Lake formed in the pit of a
deactivated quarry

Our commitment with
the environment

Map's operations are oriented by a philosophy of concern for the environment and its preservation.

The pits left by the deactivated quarries are made into lakes, wich receive new populations of fish and are used for the development of fish farms, activities wich have erase every single trace of pollution. The mounds formed by discarded rock are covered with earth, forming areas where native species of trees and vegetation are cultivated.

Ten per cent of the company's rights of exploitation are diverted to forest reservation areas, the preservation of water courses, native animal species and interchange programs developed with the community. These reservations are open visiting schools and groups interested in enjoying nature.

MAP also develops ecology awareness activities with its workers on an ongoing basis, besides giving permanent support to any initiative to preserve the environment.
